Chickn Squares

We grew up eating my mom’s delicious chicken squares, it always felt like a special night when we had these.  Little did we know, it was a life-saver for my mom.  This recipe takes very few ingredients and is so quick and easy, it became a go-to for me to serve to my family as well.  I veganized it years ago and quite honestly, I might have to brag to say, it is more delicious as a compassionate meal.

So what does it take:

  • 1 package Tofutti Cream Cheese
  • 3/4 package Beyond Meat Chicken Strips – diced
  • 2-3 green onions
  • 2 packages Immaculate crescent rolls
  • Salt and Pepper

That’s it!  From start to finish this is a 30-minute prep + bake + serve meal!

Once you try it, I think you will be excited to make it again and again!  We have mixed it up from time to time by adding vegetables into the filling, but seem to go back to the original more often than not.

If you try this let us know what you think!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Tofutti Cream Cheese
  • 3/4 package Beyond Meat Chicken Lightly Seasoned Strips
  • 2 packages Immaculate Baking Company Crescent Rolls
  • 2 green onions
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease a baking sheet.

Set out cream cheese to allow to soften (5 mins).  Dice chicken strips, mince green onions.  Place all three items in a mixing bowl, add salt and pepper, stir until mixed.

Unwrap crescent roll packaging.  Do not separate, keep in the shape of a square, pinching the perforated seam together.  Use palm to flatten, stretch so all squares are equal in size.

Scoop cream cheese/chicken mixture (approximately 1/4 c) place in center of crescent roll.  Pull long sides up to meet in the middle. Pinch together to seal.  Pinch corners on open end.  Some filling may squish out and the top may split during baking.

Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown on top, be sure to check the bottoms as they can quickly darken more quickly than the tops.

*2 packages of crescent rolls will feed 6 people, however there will be leftover rolls as the filling is just enough to fill 6.

    Serve and eat.
